We all know the importance of leading a healthy lifestyle, and it’s a journey that everyone approaches differently. With his career in professional rugby which saw him play for Rugby League teams, Sheffield Eagles and Featherstone Rovers, Jack Render knows just how important it is to prioritise health and well-being.
This week we caught up with Jack to talk about his approach to fitness, and what always motivates him to keep pushing himself.
Why is leading a healthy lifestyle important to you?
It’s important to me to be healthy as that’s what gives me the motivation to get out of bed and do something with the day. For me, poor health leads to missing out on things that I’d love to do due to lack of energy and motivation.
What do you believe to be the greatest factor in leading a healthy lifestyle?
It’s common knowledge that diet & exercise are the keys to a healthy lifestyle both physically and mentally but I think finding a way for your diet and exercise to be fun and exclusive to your needs is the key as that makes it 10x easier to form a habit of it.
How do you keep yourself motivated?
I keep motivated by setting myself both short and long term goals. This may be as simple as just one thing I’m going to do in the day but if I keep that up then that will help lead to a greater long term target of mine.
What would you say to someone who wants to embark on a new fitness journey?
I’d say the biggest thing is to stick with it. It is a longer process than a day or two so even if you feel like results aren’t happening straight away, trust what you are doing and in time your desired results will come.
In terms of mindset, what do you do to keep your approach to fitness and wellbeing a positive one?
Personally, I try my best to be a little bit better than I was the day before and that’s in all aspects of life whether I can eat healthier or be kinder than I was the day before. If I feel like I’ve achieved that, then I can be happy.
Do you have a mantra or quote that you live by?
I don’t believe in a specific mantra or quote. I think you should just find something that makes you happy and gives you a sense of worth.
Which sports and well-being product do you find helps you the most?
I like the Acupressure Mat & Pillow set. It’s design helps aid my recovery as well as getting rid of stress and pain in my neck and shoulders.
